Outdoor Crane Rail Heating
Thermal-Flex crane rail heating systems are a cost effective solution to crane wheel slippage casued by snow, ice and frost. The systems are configured for easy installation on various types of rail.
Our crane rail heating systems are comprised of industrial grade, high temperature constant wattage heating cables, various mounting components, and thermostatic controls for effectively heating crane rail. Designs are available for heating the trolleys and runways. The heating cable is secured with our high temperature fiberglass channel to both protect it and maximize heat transfer into the rail. The heating components can be fixed to the crane rail with a variety of methods including threaded studs welded to the rail web, by drilling the rail, or clipped in place using the crane rail girder or hook bolts.

Two 12 AWG tinned or nickel plated copper buss wires provide a reliable path for current.
Buss Wire Insulation
11 mil Teflon® FEP jacket insulates buss leads.
Extruded Binder
FEP extruded binder supports buss wires and provides a stable surface for nichrome heating wire.
Nichrome Wire
The nickel chromium heating wire supplies constant uniform heat output.
